In addition to rescuing and adopting out cats and dogs, we support the animals and people in our community through programs like Nora’s Fund, which helps Nebraska pet owners with medical expenses for their pets, and a Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) initiative to manage outdoor cat populations. With no paid staff, our lifesaving work depends entirely on the generosity of donors and volunteers.

A farm-to-fork breakfast, brunch, and lunch cafe serving downtown Lincoln and featuring small farmers and growers since 2016. We source as many local and in-season ingredients as possible for our dishes, which are chef-driven and always prepared to order. Both the cafe and an event space (including an outdoor patio and Union Plaza park access) are available for rent, with Ember members receiving 15% off of rental fees. From May to October, we host a weekly Wednesday farmers market, and the last Friday of the month from June to September is the Hub & Soul community concert series in conjunction with Eleanor Creative, Lincoln Parks & Rec, The Great Plains Trails Network, and others. Our recent addition is a weekly Friday night pizza night, with a pizza and small bites menu that rotates monthly.
